Sam Martyn, a traditional folk singer and musician from Hull, sings solo as well as in the Hull bands Beggar’s Bridge and Fiddlers Elbow. She’s also a member of the White Horse Ceilidh Band. Her repertoire stretches from traditional folk ballads to reworkings of more recent popular songs and even musical numbers. She’s a fixture in the regular Hull maritime concerts and her most recent major project was singing and playing on Reg Meuross’s 12 Silk Handkerchiefs song cycle, which went on an Arts Council England-funded tour in September 2019.
