Step into the enchanting world of Ebenezer Scrooge, the miserly old man who discovers the true spirit of Christmas, When three spirits visit him on Christmas Eve, the bitter lonely old miser is given a new perspective on his life and past.

It’s a bold exciting new version of the classic tale of a lonely, bitter miser’s redemption.

This anniversary production is a heartfelt homage to the legacy of our theatre. Whether young or old, this special edition of A Christmas Carol promises to be a festive treat for all ages.

John McAndew is an accomplished Director and actor. He will be directing ‘A Christmas Carol’ at ERT throughout the Christmas season

Actor/ Director for the Royal Court Theatre on Cunard’s ‘Queen Elizabeth’ Cruise Ship

For the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Fringe directed ‘Events While Guarding The Bofors Gun’ in London and Stratford Upon Avon

And with Vincent Regan helped open the thriving Landor Theatre in South London with a British premiere of ‘Innocence’ by Frankie McGuiness

Acting Credits

Has worked in over 60 different countries from New York (Broadway) to Beijing and Singapore to Baghdad

He has appeared extensively with The Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and Manchester Royal Exchange

Winner of the Carlton Hobbs Radio Award he has acted in over 200 radio plays and series including Pippin in the award winning BBC radio adaptation of ‘The Lord of The Rings’

Numerous tv appearances including a stint as a semi regular in BBC’s Casualty

ERT’s very own Vincent Regan is a well known star of film and stage. He has adapted the classic Dickens’ story ‘A Christmas Carol’ and is also producing our festive play this year

For the ERT, Vincent has adapted A Christmas Carol and Great Expectations

He played Denny in Steady Rain, transferring to the Arcola Theatre in London
