A ghost story

In 1914, two boyhood friends went to fight for their country—only one came back. After the war, the surviving soldier and his sister encounter an old friend who was being haunted by the ghost of a young man in a blindfold. Now, a hundred years later, the discovery of letters re-awakens the ghost.
Who is he, and what does he want? Bit by bit, the lives of the long dead are brought to life and heartbreaking truths begin to emerge…

Clap Trap Theatre has been going for over eighteen years and Blindfold is their fourth ghost story. A ghost story seems to lend itself particularly well to a cold winter’s night, which is why they only tour them now around Halloween or Christmas when the days are short and the nights are long.

Blindfold originally toured in 2018 as a period piece. However, following the success last year of The Room Upstairs featuring Natasha, Cal and Florrie, Blindfold has been completely re-written specifically them.

It follows the classic format of a fireside story-telling evening with actors bringing the characters alive and gradually realising that there is more to the story than meets the eye. Expect a bit of everything – some nervous laughter, a few shocks, a great story and maybe even a tear or two.

So, come along to Blindfold…if you dare!
